Inis Mór is the largest and most iconic of the three Aran Islands.

Inis Mór is the largest and most iconic of the three Aran Islands, known for its dramatic cliffs, rich cultural heritage, and warm island welcome. The island’s main village, Kilronan, features a busy harbour, shops, cafés, bike rentals, and the Ionad Árann Visitor Centre, which offers an excellent introduction to the island’s history and traditions.

Travel tips

1. Getting there:

Daily flights available from Connemara Airport. A connecting bus service runs from Galway City.

2. Getting around:

Bike rentals, walking trails, and pony & Trap tours, bus tours and more available in Kilronan. A bus service also runs from the airport on the island to Kilronan.

3. Language:

Irish is the first language, but English is widely spoken.

4. What to bring:

Comfortable shoes, layers for changing weather, and a camera—this island is endlessly photogenic.
